How to combat headaches

Headaches, often associated with stress, are suffered by us all at one time. Usually characterised by a constant ache on one or both sides of the head, mostly, they are benign, and more simply irritating and disruptive to our daily life. However, when a headache persists, or is accompanied by other symptoms, you should seek the advice of a GP.

Over-the-counter painkillers (like aspirin, paracetamol and ibuprofen) are effective in treating headache symptoms. However, preventative measures like a good intake of water to avoid dehydration and identifying triggers like poor overhead lighting, gazing at a computer screen, poor posture and a high caffeine intake can help avoid a headache.
